"CAROLS DOWN THE LINE"
This special Christmas event took place on the South Devon Railway on Tuesday 9, Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 December, and was co-ordinated by Palace Avenue Methodist Church, Paignton.

We are pleased to be able to report that the event was a great success, with more than £3,000 raised for various charities. A donation of £1,000 will be sent to Action for Children (formerly NCH), and £1,100 to World Vision, to dig a well to provide clean water for a village in Senegal. Donations received on the train in exchange for a Railway Mission Calendar raised £438.17 for Railway Mission, and a collection on the train raised £690.18 for Shelterbox.

Owing to the success of the event the dates for next year's "Carols Down the Line" have already been provisionally set, for Tuesday 8, Wednesday 9 and Thursday 10 December 2009. Full details will be available in the autumn of 2009 when arrangements are finalised. Thank you to everyone who supported this year's event.
