ELEVATE YOUNG LEADERS WEEKEND
This event takes place at Beacon Youth Centre, Lee Abbey, from 7.00 pm on Friday 26 February until 2.00 pm on Sunday 28 February, and costs a suggested donation of £30 from the church.
Many of you will recall that the Ecumenical Youth Advisers group (incorporating representatives from the Anglican, Methodist, URC, Catholic and Salvation Army churches and SWYM, Scripture Union and Urban Saints) has run a couple of events targeted at young leaders. This is simply a weekend at the Beacon Youth Centre at Lee Abbey focused on helping young leaders (16-21) explore their calling as leaders.
The kind of young person who this is suitable for is someone who is involved in leadership already (helping out with groups, children's work, worship, scouts, guides etc.) or has the potential to do so. It's vital that they will have the opportunity to lead after they've been away for the weekend – and that this isn't just a one off investment. It's also crucial that they have support and ongoing investment to build on what they experience with us. We complete an individual action plan with them during the weekend which we then pass on to you to use with them in helping them to continue to grow.
